What's Included?

As with the first round of software, there are three main components to the suite of products for which we have obtained group licensing.

bulletLexiDrugs (International version)
bulletGriffiths' 5 Minute Clinical Consult
bulletLexi-Interact

If you take a look at the LexiComp web site, you will find that they offer a really wide range of products. If there is significant interest, we will consider adding other products from this range to our licensed suite.

Navigating with LexiReader

You will find the LexiReader on the Start Menu. With this one reader, you have access to all the Lexi product line that is loaded on your device, except for Lexi-Interact, which uses a separate front-end.

You can change the reference source simply by choosing Book | Open from the LexiReader menu, then double-click on the book that you wish to read. If your book is still running in Demo mode, contact us about getting an unlock code.

We will need the Device ID number that LexiReader gives you at this point so make a note of it.

To find something in a book, simply start typing in the search box at the bottom of the index. As you enter letters, it will narrow down the search - you rarely need to type in a complete search term.

You will find each entry in the book is divided up into sections. You can scroll through the sections or you can use the Bookmarks icon to popup a list of sections.

You can also annotate entries in a book with your own Notes - simply click on the Notes icon.

To go back to the Index, simply click on the Left Arrow icon.

 Lexi-Interact

While most of the books in the LexiComp arsenal are opened using the standard reader, Interact uses a separate program - this is because of the need for more than just a simple viewer of files.

Interact is quite simple to use and yet is more powerful than most other similar programs because it will flag multiple drug interactions simultaneously.

Why the switch from Skyscape?

Some of you who have been with the project longer will notice that the reader interface for these products has changed. The first series used Skyscape's K2 reader,  which for some has a preferable and more capable interface. Click here for more information about the older series of Lexi products and the Skyscape reader.

However, we chose to remain with the content from LexiComp, rather than with the more familiar Skyscape interface. After analysing the various offerings from both companies, we felt that the Canadian content from LexiComp was significantly superior. Both product sets continue to evolve.
