Touch Screen Maintenance

The screen of your device is covered by a thin flexible plastic membrane, which enables your device to interpret the taps and swipes of your pen. This is called the Digitizer. There are a few simple Do's and Don'ts to follow that will prolong the life of this screen.

bulletDo not write on the screen with an ordinary pen.
bulletDo not use alcohol or glass cleaners.
bulletDo not get the screen wet.
bulletDonuts and digitizers don't mix.

To clean your screen, the best thing is a soft cloth moistened with a mild soapy solution. Do not use alcohol or ammonia glass cleaners.

You can get plastic film overlays as screen protectors. Opinions are varied as to whether these are a good idea. Be careful as to type that you buy - not all of them are easy to remove and you can warp the digitizer if you pull them off too roughly.

Jim Thompson has some tips about applying tape to the Graffiti area on your Visor - check out his web site.

After cleaning the screen, you sometimes have to realign the digitizer.
